 Decarbonization of the energy sector is a necessary but long-term process. It includes at least partial substitution fossil fuels using renewable and alternative fuels. However, this substitution, apart from not always being possible, often accompanied by limitations unknowns. Those unknowns are dominantly related to possibility establishing stable, highly efficient low-waste combustion as fundamental process primary conversion fuel. Such situations very common considering necessity decarbonization in large number fuel-based plants, especially coal-based ones. The an energetically, economically environmentally acceptable function variables, which collective properties fuel, including ash that dominant sense. With motive scientific contribution transition, with aim obtaining new knowledge about characteristics lignite coals different types biomass, set laboratory research was carried out. Various mixtures lignite, waste woody biomass Miscanthus fast-growing crop were subjected combustion. change composition fuel mixture, tests performed temperature 1250 °C staged supply air. these conditions, emission undesirable components into environment, efficiency estimated tendency fouling boiler heating surfaces determined. has been shown even co-firing °C, it possible establish content unburnt carbon slag (unburnt content, UBC<4%) well CO emissions (eCO≤340 mg/mn3), relatively low nitrogen oxides eNOx≤670 mg/mn3. Also, proved be controlled aspect slagging furnace. net CO2 decreases proportion share while SO2 high, level eSO2≤2500 mg/mn3.
